Areas Covered in the Guide
The Life in Idaho Area Guide covers the whole Treasure Valley, not just Boise. That matters because most people moving here have not decided which city to live in yet, and the guide helps them compare.
Here is what is covered, with a quick note on each area for agents who are new to the valley themselves.
Treasure Valley Cities in the Guide
Boise
Idaho’s capital and largest city, and the center of the valley. Downtown, the North End, the Bench, Southeast Boise, and the foothills, plus the Greenbelt, Boise State, the food and brewery scene, and the year-round event calendar.
Garden City
A small city tucked between Boise and the river, known for its stretch of the Greenbelt, breweries, wineries, and a growing arts district. Popular with buyers who want to be close to downtown Boise.
Eagle
Northwest of Boise along the Boise River, with a walkable downtown, larger lots, and quick access to the foothills. Often the first stop for buyers looking for space near the city.
Meridian
The second-largest city in Idaho and one of the fastest growing, between Boise and Nampa. Newer neighborhoods, family-focused amenities, and The Village shopping and dining center.
Nampa
The largest city in Canyon County, with a historic downtown, the Ford Idaho Center, Northwest Nazarene University, and more affordable housing than Boise.
Caldwell
West of Nampa, with a revitalized downtown built around Indian Creek, the College of Idaho, and the Sunnyslope wine region just outside town.
Kuna
South of Meridian, a smaller, quieter community with newer subdivisions and easy access to the Snake River Birds of Prey area.
Star
Between Eagle and Middleton along the river, a small town that has grown quickly with new neighborhoods while keeping a rural feel.
Emmett
North of the valley over Freezeout Hill, the Gem County seat, known for orchards, the Payette River, and a slower pace about 30 minutes from Boise.
Middleton
A small town in Canyon County between Star and Caldwell, with new housing and a rural setting that appeals to buyers who want land.
Outlying Areas
Nearby destinations people ask about once they arrive, including mountain and river day trips, so clients know what is within reach on a weekend.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a version for just one city?
No, and on purpose. Clients moving from out of state rarely know the difference between Meridian and Eagle before they get here. One guide that covers all of them lets you hand out a single link and let the client explore. Your branding is on it either way.
Do you make guides for other parts of Idaho?
Not currently. The Life in Idaho Area Guide is focused on Boise and the Treasure Valley, which is where This Is Boise is based and what we cover every day. If you work in another part of the state, contact us and we will let you know if that changes.
